Steel trusses, beams, frames and bracing elements must function as a single system, while the connections are selected according to the shape and purpose of the structure.

What Types of Structures Can Be Manufactured?

Within these structures, the main frame forms the basis of the building, while the trusses, beams and supporting frames carry and distribute the loads. Depending on the project, the steel skeleton may also include platforms, stairs and other fabricated components required for the practical use of the space.

For a steel-framed house, the solution is adapted to the internal layout, number of storeys and type of external walls. A steel roof structure must take account of the shape, span and chosen roof covering. For this reason, both house and roof structures must be calculated individually.

How Are Steel Structures Produced?

1. Project assessment – the intended use, dimensions, site, loads and client requirements are reviewed. Where only an initial sketch is available, the missing information is identified before calculations begin.

2. Technical preparation – component sections, connections, protective treatments and the installation sequence are defined. The individual parts to be manufactured and the way they will be transported to the site are also established.

3. Factory production – the steel is cut, drilled, welded and inspected in accordance with the technical documentation. Each component is marked and prepared for delivery so that it can be assembled in the correct order.

4. Transport and installation – the components are delivered to the site, lifted into position and secured. Once assembly is complete, the geometry, connections and protective treatments are inspected.

A straightforward structure can be manufactured and installed within several weeks. Larger steel structures, non-standard shapes or projects involving numerous specialised connections require more time. The final programme is established once the technical documentation has been completed.
